If you were like most of us, you asked your one friend that has the Samsung Galaxy to burn you a copy of Jay Z's new album, "Magna Carta Holy Grail". Thanks Chilly! After listening to it non-stop for the last four days, I can't help but breathe a sigh of relief. Finally, HIP HOP FOR GROWN UPS! We all have to grow up at some point. I'm just happy to have someone like Jay Z providing the soundtrack for us to grow to. None of this pole climbing, molly popping, ratchet-ness going on here. Hov's talking art and high fashion all throughout this album and I couldn't be happier about those references. I also can't help but picture grown men Googling all of the labels Hov speaks about on almost every record. It's OK. He's on a whole other level. We may or may not be able to relate to everything he is talking about, but the core message for me remains the same - Never underestimate street smarts! He is the true definition of the "American Dream". Survived the street life, recognized his gift, and parlayed that into a billion dollar empire. Never let the circumstances you were born into determine where you end up in life. F the statistics! F the rules! Determine your own success and create #NEWRULES. Jay continues to create and inspire, all while maintaing that hustler spirit only those who have ever survived a struggle in their life can relate too. GENIUS! *Diamonds UP*
