NYC2SD!

I recently visited the AMAZING Topshop during my last trip to NYC a few weeks ago and fell in LOVE! Topshop hails from London and made its debut here in the U.S. just two short years ago. Topshop NYC is located in Soho, Manhattan, home to many other juicy retailers such as H&M, Zara, and Madewell. As I made my way through this four story, 25,000 sq ft. British beauty, I was in awe of all the beautifully crafted pieces calling out my name. Then out of the corner of my eye, I seen her - a soft coral colored, long sleeve, gold zipper down the back, charmuse dream come true! It was love at first sight! I brought her back to San Diego with me and she made her debut along with some friends this past weekend! I found the sweetest pair of nude pumps by Dolce Vita at Macys to wear, along with the most perfect accessories from Bestsey Johnson and Ann Taylor. Put it all together and what do you get? A fabulous outfit to kick off my fabulous NYC2SD weekend!

*Sending my love to all those who joined me this NYC2SD weekend! xo B*

Mommy Style

Happy Mother's Day! Whether you are a mom, plan on becoming one, or approaching the stage in life where it seems most of your girlfriends are announcing their pregnancy, Motherhood is unavoidable. I am inspired by mothers who are able to maintain a successful career while raising a child, and look flawless while doing so. Congrats to those of you who work all day, come home to raise your children, take care of your husbands, and somehow manage to find time to coordinate a fabulous outfit to wear! After spending the day with my own mother, I began to think about what celebrity moms style I most admire. Here are a few of my favs....

Gwen Stefani and Kingston

Jennifer Lopez with Max and Emme for Gucci

Jessica Alba and Honor

Kourtney Kardashian and Mason

Met Gala 101

Here's a mini fashion history lesson for you about the ultra fabulous Metropolitan Gala that takes place every year at The Metropolitan Musem's Costume Institute in NYC. When the ball first began in 1948, it was a midnight supper in December at which society ladies paid $50 to wear Costume Institute gowns. As with many aspects of the modern fashion industry, it didn't turn into a crazed celebrity whirlwind until Anna Wintour got involved back in 1995. All that hoopla has turned the Gala into a major, major fundraising event—last year the party raised $9 million.  Tonight's Met Ball also kicks off the Alexander McQueen "Savage Beauty" exhibition. The exhibition will feature McQueen's masterpieces, displayed on some of the most elaborate mannequins of all time.

For me personally, the Met Gala celebrates glamor and high fashion all in one night! In my mind this is what heaven should look like! Here are some of my favorite looks of the night! STUNNING!

Beyonce - Emilio Pucci

Blake Lively - Chanel Couture

Eva Mendes - Stella McCartney

Gisele Bundchen - Alexander McQueen

Jennifer Lopez - Gucci

Jessica Alba - Ralph Lauren

Madonna - Stella McCartney

Penelope Cruz - Oscar de la Renta

Only In LA...

I spent this past weekend in LA celebrating my BFF's birthday. On our way up to LA from SD, we stopped at South Coast Plaza. This has fast become one of our favorite stops when driving up the 405N. Mostly because SCP is home to many stores that are not located in San Diego, such as Zara, Club Monaco, Gucci, and more.

I have been obsessed over mixing bright colors for Spring and what do ya know....

I also happen to come across the world's most perfect engagement ring at Harry Winston...a girl can dream, right?
Saturday was spent on Melrose. I had been dying to see the Rodarte "State of Matter" exhibit at the Pacific Design Center. The Black Swan costumes were AMAZING! Natalie Portman deserved the Oscar just for being able to fit into those tiny tutus! The costumes were beautifully displayed.

After the exhibit, we headed down Melrose to the highly anticipated Dita Legends Boutique. I have no words to describe my feelings for these "Night Moves"...

Sunday was spent at the newly remodeled Santa Monica Place. Talk about a mall makeover! The Nordstrom and Bloomingdales here are beautifully done. I could literally live in the bathrooms at Bloomingdales!

We completed our shopping lists with a trip to the MAC counter inside Nordies and picked up some Spring essentials...
There are 3 things you can always count on when visiting LA - fashion, fitness, and culture will always be in the mix!

Special thanks to the Lohse's and the G Unit for hosting me! xo B
