I have been OBSESSED with the color block trend for Spring ever since I layed eyes on this gorgeous Gucci SS 2011 ad campaign was released! The color combos are so beautiful and they definitely put me in the mood for Spring! Here are some of my favorite looks from the runway....

Only In LA...

I spent this past weekend in LA celebrating my BFF's birthday. On our way up to LA from SD, we stopped at South Coast Plaza. This has fast become one of our favorite stops when driving up the 405N. Mostly because SCP is home to many stores that are not located in San Diego, such as Zara, Club Monaco, Gucci, and more.

I have been obsessed over mixing bright colors for Spring and what do ya know....

I also happen to come across the world's most perfect engagement ring at Harry Winston...a girl can dream, right?

Saturday was spent on Melrose. I had been dying to see the Rodarte "State of Matter" exhibit at the Pacific Design Center. The Black Swan costumes were AMAZING! Natalie Portman deserved the Oscar just for being able to fit into those tiny tutus! The costumes were beautifully displayed.

After the exhibit, we headed down Melrose to the highly anticipated Dita Legends Boutique. I have no words to describe my feelings for these "Night Moves"...

Sunday was spent at the newly remodeled Santa Monica Place. Talk about a mall makeover! The Nordstrom and Bloomingdales here are beautifully done. I could literally live in the bathrooms at Bloomingdales!

We completed our shopping lists with a trip to the MAC counter inside Nordies and picked up some Spring essentials...

Fall Head Over Heels for Henri....

I recently had to do a little birthday shopping for a fabulous woman, who can be a little difficult to shop for at times. After searching countless sites, Nordies/Bloomies/etc.., I thought what about Henri Bendel. As soon as I walked into the delicious store, I fell in LOVE! I was immediately drawn to the AMAZING accessories. Cocktail rings, earrings, bracelets and more were screaming my name! As I sunk further into Henri Bendel Heaven, I realized they also had the cutest clutches and cosmetic bags. But my absolute FAVORITE MUST HAVE were the cashmere leopard print ballet slippers! TO DIE FOR!

HIP HOP: ALL GROWN UP

 

January 13, 2011 Happy New Year Everyone! I hope you all had a blessed holiday season. One of my favorite gifts that I received was the book "Decoded" by rapper/mogul Jay Z. In his memoir, Jay does an amazing job of shedding light on how hip-hop music connects so many of us. His stories brought back memories of how influential hip-hop music was on me while growing up. The hip-hop genre has inspired so many of us in many different ways, yet it connects us to one another all the same. It's like a language that we can all understand. Not only has hip-hop as a culture evolved over the years, but it's style has matured as well. I began looking up photos of some of my favorite hip-hop artists and realized how much hip-hop's style has changed. Guys have gone from wearing XXL jerseys and baggy jeans to cardigans and pants that actually fit. It's refreshing to see a man's style evolve over the years. It's even more exciting when we see some of our favorite hip hop artists developing a passion for fashion! So, to all my guys who love hip-hop and have been influenced by its culture, I urge you to be inspired by these artists not only through their music but also by the evolution of their own personal style! Congrats Hip-Hop, we've GROWN UP!
